am Mittwoch, 29. April 2009 von 15:30 bis 17:30 im Raum H.U.010 am LRZ in Garching einladen.

Wir hoffen, dass dieses Thema für den einen oder anderen von Ihnen interessant ist und würden uns über Ihre Teilnahme freuen. Eine Anmeldung für den Kurs HPAR2S09 ist erforderlich. Der Kurs ist kostenlos und offen für Studenten und Wissenschaftler aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet.

• Erstellen eines Grid Projekts mit g-Eclipse inkl. Job Description Language, Absenden von Jobs, Zugriff auf Daten, ...
• Visualisierung von Daten mit g-Eclipse
• Management des Grid Batchsystems
• Ausblick: Cloud Computing mit g-Eclipse

Die Sprache (Deutsch oder Englisch) wird sich nach den Wünschen der Zuhörer richten. Die Folien sind auf Englisch.

Hier noch einige Informationen zu g-Eclipse:

The g-Eclipse framework is both a graphical user interface and an API for accessing grid infrastructures independently of their underlying architecture. It currently supports the gLite and GRIA based grid infrastructures, as well as the Amazon Web Service cloud infrastructure. The framework bases on the widely known Eclipse development platform and provides an abstraction layer for building infrastructure specific extensions upon it. This hands-on tutorial will teach its participants how to access grid infrastructures in order to perform their daily work on the grid.

It will focus on the gLite specific parts for which it will cover topics like data and job management, visualization, site administration and grid application development. Furthermore a short introduction to Amazon Web Services will be given and the data management interoperability of these infrastructures within g-Eclipse will be shown.
